hp Probook 4530
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I need to know on how can I get this Probook 4530s Notebook working again without having to deal with a pc tech in town. I have a Critical Dead Stop Code. I can't reboot and I have tried everything. The video on you tube is terrible because it is so fast. I have cerebral palsy. I can't get the notebook to work. I have tried to do a restore, and factory restore. I forgot my windows password too. I use the pin number which is easier for me to use since I have ADD. I need to know what to do...I i do have an external hard if I need to download something to transfer it over to this laptop..

I believe in being straightforward with folks -- even if the new is unpleasant -- which in this case, it IS.

This BSOD, like any other, is extremely difficult to diagnose and fix -- far beyond anything we can do from here.  There are multiple things you need to do, some of them will NOT work, and you will probably have to face up to do a complete reinstall -- and that will only work if the drive is not failing -- which is the most common cause of this problem. So, I would follow the instructions below to check the drive before doing anything else.

If the drive checks out OK, here is a thread with other things you can do about this issue:  https://helpdeskgeek.com/help-desk/how-to-fix-a-stop-code-critical-process-died-bsod/

As you can see, there is a LOT of work involved.

------------------ Testing the hard drive --------------

If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024

If not, to check the drive you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.

Thank you, I'm going to let my computer guy look into this and see what needs to be done. I will let him take the laptop with him, if he needs to. I think that would be better. I told the ebay seller about the problem yesterday and he said to text him when my computer guy comes over hopefully tomorrow. If not because he can't get around because of his knee issue. I will tell the seller that I'm going to take the laptop to the post office and help me box it up and send it off to him to get it fixed. And hopefully I will never see this problem again. He will not charge me for it either just the postal box.
