Hi @Berino,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
If your HP Chromebook is stuck in demo mode, you'll need to follow these steps to exit demo mode:
- Power Off Your Chromebook: Make sure your Chromebook is turned off completely.
- Factory Reset: A common method to exit demo mode is to perform a factory reset. However, please note that this will erase all your data, settings, and accounts from the Chromebook. To do a factory reset:
- a. Press and hold the "Esc," "Refresh," and "Power" buttons simultaneously. The "Refresh" key often looks like a circular arrow.
- b. Keep holding these keys for about 5 seconds and then release them.
- c. Your Chromebook should boot into recovery mode. Use the keyboard to navigate and select "Powerwash" or "Factory Reset" and follow the on-screen instructions to reset the device.
- d. Once the process is complete, set up your Chromebook as a new device, and it should no longer be in demo mode.
If the factory reset doesn't work or you're uncomfortable performing it, you should contact HP support for assistance. They can guide you through the process or provide additional steps to exit demo mode.
It's essential to keep in mind that demo mode is typically intended for use in retail or demonstration environments. When you exit demo mode, your Chromebook should function as a regular device.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
