Hi @emadramadan,

Good Day. Thank you for taking an interest in the HP community. I understand that you require assistance regarding issues with the computer running slow and CPU usage being at 100% and thereby freezing the computer. I will be really glad to assist you here. 🙂

Fabulous description and superb diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. )

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did this happen after a recent Software or Windows update?
  • Did you check task manager as to which processor program is increasing the CPU usage?

It looks like a hardware issue with the computer. For now, try these steps:

  • Run diagnostics on the computer’s memory and hard drive from this link: http://hp.care/2BBBTQo There are screenshots on how to do this.
  • If diagnostics pass, then follow this guided troubleshooter link: http://hp.care/2BBBUnq  for performance issues with the computer.
  • Also check this link: http://hp.care/2sD0hyh on how to use the task manager. This should fix the issue as long as the hardware is not faulty.
  • If the hardware is faulty, then contact a local technician to get the computer repaired.

If the computer is more than 3 years old then service options with HP are no longer available because the original suppliers and manufacturers who manufacture and supply the parts to HP to build and service the computer don't do so anymore.

Please contact a local technician to get the product repaired.

  • As a last resort, backup your files and perform a system recovery to factory settings from here http://hp.care/2BCvl43   if diagnostics pass on the computer.

Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient. Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat.

Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Take care now and have a superb week ahead. 🙂

Hi there,

For any one to help you, you must provide more information. You can start with looking at Task Manager to see what is consumming all that CPU power. It could be a variety of things ......like the browser, your anti virus, windows updates or something else. The Task Manager will help point you in the right direction.

Also, it would be good to know what windows version and  browser you use. Let the community know so we can help....
