Hi! @alex_fighter_42, Welcome to HP forums.
I understand you have issues installing the drivers using a USB connection on your printer.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Are you able to make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried checking using a different USB cable?
Have you connected the printer to a USB 3.0 port?
Excellent description and a great diagnosis done. It is greatly appreciated.
Please the printer model name to assist you better.
By not wasting much of your time. Try connecting the printer to a different USB port and check if the issue persists.
Also, you have to connect your printer to a USB 2.0 port as the USB 3.0 port might not function correctly.
By not wasting much of your time. Please try the steps recommended below.
Search Windows for device manager, and then click Device Manager in the list of results.
Click the Right arrow next to the following entries to expand them, and then look for your printer in each list:
Printers
Print queues
Universal Serial Bus controllers
Other devices
If you see a yellow exclamation mark next to your printer or the phrase Unknown device, continue with the next step.
If you do not see your printer or a yellow exclamation mark in the list, skip to the next step to uninstall the driver.
Right-click the HP device/Unknown device entry or the entry with the symbol, and then click Update Driver Software. The Update Driver Software - Unknown Device wizard opens.
Click Search automatically for updated driver software. Follow the on-screen instructions to refresh the device manager.
Repeat these steps for all device entries with the symbol.
If the issue still persists try uninstalling the printer software from the root level and install the full feature printer software.
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.
Update the full feature printer software using this link. Click Here
NOTE: If you're going to connect the printer via USB, then do not connect it initially. Begin the installation first and later there will be a prompt to connect the printer. That's when you may connect the printer.
Also, if you have issues try installing windows, built-in drivers.
