just to clarify, I can't get to Windows on this laptop... that's the gist of the problem at this point.  I just installed a new battery and it still won't boot up.  I'm viewing the YouTube video and doing the downloads again to my flash drive.  I don't know how long it should take to download Windows 11.  I'm attaching a screenshot from Windows Explorer.... should I delete the files generated earlier?

Tell me in details then. Do hp log appears and screen remains black after that or something else?

If you're referring to the HP laptop that won't boot up, it first shows the HP black screen and then it comes back and says "your device ran into a problem and needs to restart, etc."  Next it goes into "Automatic Repair" which comes back with the message "Your PC did not start correctly".  At this point hitting the Restart button just brings me back to the same screen.  I've tried all of the Advanced options to no avail.  My wife was able to quickly note an error message of "bad system configuration."

I've also been unsuccessful in downloading Windows 11 to a USB flash drive, despite having over 8 GB of storage space on the flash drive.  The download always seems to quit after downloading about 4.2 million KB and all I get is the file "Unconfirmed 919679.crdownload"... downloading rufus goes on without any trouble.  I should point out that since I can't do anything on the HP laptop, I'm downloading to a USB drive plugged into an HP desktop, which can subsequently be ejected and plugged into a USB port on the laptop.

Do did you able to create bootable usb from another windows system like your desktop?

I've been trying to download a bootable system to my USB flash drive.  I don't know any other way to create one

Check my previous comments I already provide steps and video to create it. Do same with another windows system. If stuck somewhere then post screen image so I can tell what to do next.

You want to install windows 10 so use this link:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/software-download/windows10ISO

Open it, scroll down then select Edition, then language and download 64bit version.

I've used your link and I never see an option to "select edition"... the only files I was able to download were "Windows10Upgrade9252.exe" and "MediaCreationTool_22H2.exe".  Rufus seems to be looking for an iso file.

If comfortable then open this link in your mobile phone and it will show like I said. Download iso on your mobile then copy it in laptop/pc from which you can create bootable usb. 

If not want to download in mobile, then download and that Microsoft tool and install it. Open it and there should be option to create bootable usb directly or download iso. Choose any one
