Sorry, but this is just a community self-help forum staffed by volunteers helping folks with MS Windows-related problems.

HP only warranties their PCs for use with the original OS that comes preinstalled on the PCs. When you replace that or add a different OS, you then assume full responsibility for maintaining that PC.

For support with Linux issues, your best approach is to post in the support forum of the Linx distro you are going to use.

For Ubuntu issues, you really need to post on the Ubuntu Forums: http://ubuntuforums.org/

Folks there deal with Ubuntu installations all the time and can provide the detailed assistance you need.

In the meantime, here is some information about installing Ubuntu in UEFI systems: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2147295

Good Luck

As long as you already have Windows installed, Linux is pretty happy about dual loading. I know Linux's website suggests that you might have to disable secure boot in your security settings. You'll also need to ensure that the computer is set to boot from CD/DVD or USB depending on where it's stored. Of course, I say this and I'm still having issues getting mine to recognize the UEFI... *sigh
