Linux user need a ACPI S3 state switch in BIOS to turn on ACPI S3 sleep state.

Also, the TSC register is broken under linux.

Sorry, but HP does not provide support for Linux, so if you are waiting on HP to do custom mods to their BIOS code for Linux support, you are waiting for something that is not going to happen.  If you install Linux on your PC, you then assume full responsibility for maintaining it on your own.
