Hi @GeoEss,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with your HP Envy x360 2-in-1 not booting up reliably. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:
Check Power and Connections: Ensure that the laptop is properly connected to a power source and that the power adapter is functioning correctly. Sometimes power issues can prevent the laptop from booting up.
Perform a Hard Reset: Disconnect all external devices and peripherals, then press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to perform a hard reset. This can sometimes resolve booting issues caused by residual electrical charge.
Boot into Safe Mode: Try booting the laptop into Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 key or Shift key during startup. Safe Mode loads only essential drivers and services, which can help identify if a third-party program or driver is causing the booting problem.
Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any BIOS or UEFI updates available for your laptop. Updating the BIOS/UEFI firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve system stability.
Run Built-in Diagnostics: Many HP laptops come with built-in diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware issues. You can usually access these diagnostics by pressing a specific key combination during startup (often F2 or ESC). Run a comprehensive diagnostic test to check for any hardware failures.
Reinstall Windows: Since you mentioned that you've had to reinstall Windows each time the laptop fails to boot, there may be underlying software issues. Before reinstalling, consider backing up any important data. You can create a Windows installation media using a USB drive and perform a clean installation of Windows.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

After all the problems encountered with this pc,the Envy , I have to declare. It is the worst PC I have ever owned in my 26 years of pc life
My only faith I have with HP is that I own a HP Omen, which is outstanding, works very well
My personal advice, dont buy the cheap pc's, they are not worth the problems
