Hi hapoo412

Here is a step-by-step guide to get your HP N200 back to "Home" or "Pro" edition.

1. The Standard Procedure

First, ensure you are following the official path. S Mode is a one-way street; once you leave, you cannot go back without a full factory reset.

  1. Go to Settings > System > Activation.

  2. Find the section Switch to Windows 11 Pro or Switch out of S mode (the wording varies slightly based on your specific build).

  3. Click Go to the Store.

  4. On the "Switch out of S mode" page, click the Get button.

2. If the "Get" Button is Greyed Out or Erroring

If the Store page is blank or gives you a "Try again later" message, try these fixes in order:

Clear the Store Cache

This fixes 90% of "stuck" Store issues.

  • Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard.

  • Type wsreset.exe and hit Enter.

  • A blank black box will appear. Do not close it. It will automatically close itself and reopen the Microsoft Store once the reset is complete.

Check for Windows Updates

Windows often blocks the switch if it’s mid-update.

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.

  • Install everything, restart your laptop, and try the Store switch again.

Correct the System Time

If your clock is even a few minutes off, Microsoft’s servers will reject the "Switch" handshake for security reasons.

  • Right-click the time in the taskbar and select Adjust date and time.

  • Ensure Set time automatically is turned ON and click Sync now.

3. The "Last Resort" Fix (Advanced)

If you still can't get out, you may need to reset the Microsoft Store app specifically.

  1. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.

  2. Search for Microsoft Store.

  3. Click the three dots (...) and select Advanced options.

  4. Scroll down and click Repair, then Reset.

  5. Restart your PC and try the activation page again.

A Quick Reality Check

Note: Leaving S Mode is free. If you see a screen asking you to pay for a Windows Pro upgrade, you are likely looking at the wrong button. Look specifically for the "Switch out of S mode" banner, which should always have a "Get" button for $0.

I hope this information is helpful!
