Hi @wadudalfa,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Laptop PC 15 is experiencing an issue where the fan and keyboard remain on even after shutting down, there could be several possible reasons for this behavior. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your operating system is up-to-date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for power-related issues.
  • Power Settings: Review your power settings to make sure they are configured correctly. Go to "Control Panel" > "Power Options" and check the settings for shutdown and sleep.
  • BIOS/UEFI Settings: Access your laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings during startup. Check for any power-related settings that may be causing the issue. Consult your laptop's manual for instructions on accessing the BIOS/UEFI.
  • Driver Updates: Ensure that all your device drivers, especially those related to power management, are up-to-date. You can do this through the Device Manager in Windows.
  • Fast Startup: Disable or enable Fast Startup in Windows. This feature can sometimes cause power-related issues. You can find this setting in "Power Options" > "Choose what the power buttons do."
  • External Devices: Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) and see if the issue persists. Sometimes, connected devices can interfere with the shutdown process.
  • Malware Scan: Run a thorough malware scan on your laptop. Malicious software can sometimes interfere with normal system processes.
  • HP Support Assistant: If your laptop came with HP Support Assistant, use it to check for and install any recommended updates or fixes.
  • System Restore: If the issue started recently, consider performing a system restore to revert your system to a previous state when it was functioning correctly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
