fingerprint sensor will not initialize following Windows 10 reinstall

After much angst I've been able to reinstall Windows 10.  Now on boot I have 3 W10 OS choices.  I allow the top one to install and my laptop seems to be operating okay.  But the fingerprint sensor doesn't initialize (won't light up).

I have executed the sp55109.exe driver and restarted my machine.  No change.

How do I get my machine back to it's original state that I enjoyed following the upgrade to W10 about 3 years ago?

I recommend you download and install the fingerprint reader driver from the below link and check if it helps.
