Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Ciao.

My laptop (a bit old but a core i7 anyway) is very very slow.

I have noticed that there is a continuous acces to the HDD... this probably generated by Win 10 problems in managing "old fashion HDs" (at least I have found this in some blogs reporting the same problem I am experiencing).

It is time to clean the system, to reinitialize it and to reinstall the operating system... and possibly also time to change my HDD with a new SSD.

Now my dilemma:

When I bought the PC, I also bought a licensed copy of WIndows (7) installed on it.

On the HD currently mounted into the PC there is a partition containing the copy of windows to be used in case you want to reinitialize the PC.

In the meantime (years) I have officially accepted to update my OS from WIn7 to WIn10.

Now I would like to change the HD for an SSD one.

How can I re-install windows on it?

Thanks for your help.

Hi:

If you want to reinstall W10, it is free and easy to do so.

Make bootable installation media with the media creation tool from the link below.

Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)

Boot from the installation media and when you get past the Install Now screen, you will be asked to select the version of W10 you want to install.

Select W10 Home or Pro (whichever version you have now).

Then you will be asked to enter a product key.

Select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and then activate after you are connected to the internet.
