Hi @Flo01,
Welcome back to the HP support community.
Let's try a few steps and see if that helps.
If the Google Play Store disappeared from your HP Chromebook 14 (Model 14-ca06ldx) and doesn't show up in the settings after a powerwash, here are steps to troubleshoot and restore it:
1. Check Chromebook Compatibility with Google Play Store
- Ensure your Chromebook model supports Google Play Store: While most Chromebooks support Android apps, double-check that your model (14-ca06ldx) is listed as compatible with the Play Store. You can verify this on the Chromebook compatibility list.
2. Enable Google Play Store in Settings
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll down to Apps and look for Google Play Store.
- If the option is available but disabled, click on it and toggle the switch to turn it on.
- If it's missing, proceed to the next steps.
3. Update Chrome OS
- Update to the latest version of Chrome OS: Sometimes, missing features are caused by outdated software.
- Go to Settings > About Chrome OS and check for any updates.
- Install any available updates, restart your Chromebook, and check if the Play Store option reappears.
4. Check if Your Admin Disabled Google Play Store
- If you're using a school or work account, it's possible that the Google Play Store has been disabled by an administrator.
- To check this, sign in with a personal Google account and see if the option to enable the Play Store appears in settings.
5. Try a Recovery
- If none of the above steps work, try using the Chromebook Recovery Utility. This is a more in-depth method to reinstall the entire OS.
- You'll need a USB stick (8GB or larger) to create a recovery drive using the Chromebook Recovery Utility.
After the recovery, the Play Store should either be available or you'll be able to reinstall it in the settings.
If this does not help, I recommend you contact phone support.
Keep me posted for further assistance
