HP notebook 15-f010dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have tried for days to fix this problem, unplugged the hard drive, then bought a new hard drive and could not load an OS after several tries.  Put my old hard drive back in, it passes the tests in F10, but still says boot device not found.  Have done the system config. several times, but nothing works, HELP !

Hi
First:- Turn off the computer, press and hold the PWR button for 4 seconds.

Then - Leave only keyboard and mouse connected, disconnect all externally connected
devices such as Docking Station, USB storage devices, displays, and printers.
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.

Next - Press and Hold the Power button for 15 seconds to Hard Reset.
Rinse and Repeat

NOW begin checking/testing/proving the Hardware is fit for purpose.
Power on your PC, press ESC (repeatedly), then F2 at the prompt.
Choose System Tests (Fast Test does a 4 minute hardware check).

HOW DO I USE DIAGNOSTICS?

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows is a Windows-based utility that allows you to run diagnostic tests to determine if the computer hardware is functioning properly. The tool runs within the Windows operating system in order to diagnose hardware failures. HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows comes pre-installed on new HP computers, but if not on yours, download here:- http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93457.exe

So you have covered all of the above, using the F2 diagnostic test, and still a problem?

None of the troubleshooting matched?

If in doubt please ask.

I did all of those things, and I still get the SMART hard disc error, detected imminent failure, can not do anything else on

the notebook but go to F10 and I have gone to boot screen and enabled and disabled legacy, then went back to default settings.  This is the old hard drive with Windows still on it I suppose ???   I also purchased a new Toshiba hard drive, and nothing I do will allow it to download windows by a disc or a USB drive......ugh    pulling my hair out !

Help Lil Boy Blue !
