 trying to reinstall windows from flash drive cd did not work asked fior media driver set up starts asks where you want to install drive 0 unallocated space total size 0mb free space 0mb gives option for new when you enter size message comes up size must be at most 0mb goes nowhere when i enter 9662 and format is not highlighted new refresh or load driver are only options

From your description, it sounds like you're trying to install Windows to the flash drive -- and of course, that will not work.

 

When the Windows installer opens the window to select a place to install, you should see no partitions.  If you see something, then your target drive is improperly formatted and you would have to fix that.

 

Also, you do NOT enter a size for installing Windows; it uses all the available space automatically. Entering a size is a bad idea.  You can go into Disk Management after the installation to shrink down the OS partition if you need space for another partition.

Will not let me format is not one of the highlighted options new refresh or load driver and I can't get a driver from CD or the flask drive and there are no files left on the hard drive
