Hi @keke25

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Use HP Recovery (Built-in Recovery Partition:

HP laptops usually have a recovery partition that allows you to restore Windows to factory settings without any external media.

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Power it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Press F11 for System Recovery.
  • The HP Recovery Manager will open.
  • Choose Troubleshoot → Recovery Manager → System Recovery.
  • Follow the prompts:
    • You can choose Keep my files or Remove everything.
    • The system will restore Windows to its original factory state.

Note: “Remove everything” deletes all your files, apps, and settings. Make sure you’ve backed up important data if possible.

Reset Windows 10 from Settings (No Flash Drive Needed)

  • If your Windows 10 is still somewhat bootable:
  • Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  • Go to Update & Security → Recovery.
  • Under Reset this PC, click Get started.
  • Choose either:
  • Keep my files → Windows will reinstall while keeping your personal files.
  • Remove everything → Complete wipe of the system.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
