Hi @vipul_borse,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand the touch screen of your HP ENVY 13-ay1000 x360 Convertible PC is not working and shows a yellow icon in Device Manager for the I2C HID device, it often indicates a driver issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and fix the problem:

1. Check for Windows Updates

Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date as Microsoft often releases patches that could resolve hardware compatibility issues.

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • Click on Check for updates and install any available updates.

2. Update the Touch Screen Driver Manually

Manually updating the driver can sometimes resolve the issue.

  • Open Device Manager by right-clicking the Start button and selecting Device Manager.
  • Find the I2C HID Device under Human Interface Devices or HID-compliant devices.
  • Right-click on it and select Update driver.
  • Choose Browse my computer for drivers.
  • Select Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.
  • Select the correct driver from the list and proceed with the installation.

3. Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver

Uninstalling and then reinstalling the driver can sometimes fix the issue.

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the I2C HID Device and select Uninstall device.
  • Confirm the uninstallation and restart your computer.
  • Windows should automatically reinstall the driver upon reboot. If it doesn’t, you can manually install it by following the steps to update the driver.

4. Install Latest Drivers from HP Support

Ensure you have the latest drivers from the HP website.

  • Visit the HP Support website.
  • Enter your laptop’s model number (HP ENVY 13-ay1000 x360).
  • Go to the Drivers & Software section.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for the touch screen or I2C HID.

5. Check BIOS Settings

Sometimes the touch screen can be disabled in the BIOS.

  • Restart your laptop and press the appropriate key (usually F10, Esc, F2, or Del) to enter the BIOS setup.
  • Navigate to the System Configuration or Advanced tab.
  • Ensure that the touch screen is enabled.
  • Save and exit the BIOS settings.

6. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

HP laptops come with built-in hardware diagnostics that can help identify issues.

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 repeatedly during startup to open the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run a diagnostic test on the touch screen to see if it identifies any issues.

7. Roll Back to Previous Driver

If the touch screen issue started after a recent update, rolling back to a previous driver version might help.

  • In Device Manager, right-click on the I2C HID Device and select Properties.
  • Go to the Driver tab and click on Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

8. Perform a System Restore

If the issue persists and started recently, performing a system restore to a point when the touch screen was working might resolve the issue.

  • Go to Settings > System > About > System Protection.
  • Click on System Restore and follow the prompts to restore your system to an earlier point.
