Hi @Gumaty

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To create a BIOS recovery USB drive for your HP laptop with an Intel i5 processor, you'll need to follow these steps:

Identify Your Model: First, confirm the exact model of your HP laptop. You can usually find this on a sticker on the bottom of the device or in the system information settings.

Visit the HP Support Website: Go to the HP Support page.

Search for Your Product: Enter your laptop model in the search bar to find the appropriate support page.

Download BIOS Recovery File:

  • Navigate to the "Software and Drivers" section.
  • Select the correct operating system.
  • Look for the BIOS section and download the latest BIOS version available.

Create the USB Recovery Drive:

  • Use a USB flash drive with at least 2GB of space.
  • Format the USB drive to FAT32 (right-click the drive in File Explorer > Format > select FAT32).
  • Copy the downloaded BIOS file (it usually has a .bin or .fd extension) to the root directory of the USB drive.

Prepare for Recovery:

  • Ensure the laptop is off.
  • Insert the USB drive.
  • To start the BIOS recovery process, turn on the laptop and press Windows + B keys together before pressing the power button. Hold these keys until you see a logo or a BIOS recovery screen.

Follow On-Screen Instructions: The recovery process will begin, and you’ll be guided through the steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
