hi Dear All,

my drive smart test failed and my laptop was unable to boot. i tried hard drive test but its failed. than again i installed a diiferent window 8 pro. but i am unable to get my key of old window i am unable to get the specification of window that was preloaded with my hp notebook g6 pavilion. can i get my window back or their activaition. please help.

The BIOS contains the product key for the Windows that was installed by HP.  Windows Pro is a premium product and the regular Windows product key that is installed from the factory will not activate it.

You might be able to use the HP Cloud Recovery tool to reinstall the Windows that came with the PC from here:

http://support.hp.cloud-recovery.s3-website-us-west-1.amazonaws.com/

Since you are in India, that link might work and you might need to use the support site from your region.

Your PC is not supported by the HP cloud recovery tool since it was made prior to 2016.

 

If you can get into Windows now, run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and it will show you the W8 OEM product key and the version of W8 the key is good for.

 

Post the report of the OEM version of Windows 8.   Do not post the product key itself.

 

After you post that info, I will give you the steps to reinstall W8.1 by using the W8 product key in your notebook's BIOS legally and for free.
