HP ENVY 14t-2000 CTO Beats Edition Notebook PC 

currently running window 10

bios version f.0f

64 bit

cpu intel hd 3000

8 gb ram

no legacy support in bios option

Hi,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.

I am afraid you cannot install Mac OS on your HP computer as MacOS is an operating system which is an Apple product made for Apple products/hardware.  It is not officially supported and not an easy to install on another devices.

With your HP computer you can only run Microsoft Windows (officially supported as Win 7 and Win 8/8.1) and probably Win 10 can also run + some GNU/Linux distros.  Mac OS cannot run officially.

There is something called Hackintosh OS which resembles MacOS but is not official, not supported and not recommended. May not work well on every PC and may require extensive troubleshooting. More info >> http://www.hackintosh.com/

i did some research and i found my pc's  bios mode =legacy  in msinfo32.exe

can i convert it into UEFI mode?

UEFI is latest

why there is no support for UEFI mode in BIOS setting? in bios version F.0F

Hi,

I see your computer should be a model from 2011. I might be wrong but HP computers after 2012 come with UEFI - I really don't know but this is what I found on the Internet.

If it says Legacy, this might be just the BIOS that does not have UEFI extension , or it coul be your BIOS/UEFI boot mode is set to Legacy mode

If your computer originally arrived with Win 7 preinstalled, most probably your computer does not have UEFI because computers that came with Win 8 preinstalled and were supposed to be Win 8 certified had to have UEFI + SecureBoot enabled.

With regards to the original question, Apple's Mac OS is only officially supported on Apple's own hardware and devices.

my hard disk is in (master boot record) MBR format and it can have only four partitions.

can i convert to GPT and install window to have benefit of having multiple hard disk partition?

lastly i know that my pc is not supported to apple os... but i wanted to try as an experimental purpose......

if i will get success on it, it would certainly help other people who are facing such type of problem in installing apple os.....

This is a benefit for vendors with specific needs (like HP and Microsofto integrating multiple partitions - like OS, recovery, system tools, etc...). For the user there is not much of a benefit for having 5-10 separate partitions on a single HDD/SSD. Benefits are the ability to store different kind of information on certain partitions and if it becomes necessary to delete some (not all).

If you plan to convert from MBR to GPT - always have a proper back-up should it happen so that something goes wrong.
