Welcome to the HP Community --

The driver, if it exists for your ProBook model and your Operating System is the easy part.

General instructions to find and install the driver are included later in this message.

The first part:

Check whether your computer includes an installed Fingerprint reader (or IR camera for Facial Recognition).

If the Device Manager does not include Category Biometric devices

(then)

Your computer does not include an installed fingerprint reader / sensor.

Cover plate and sensor look the same, unfortunately so "seeing is not believing".

You cannot bypass the requirement for the hardware by installing software.

Open the Product Home for your device

Enter the device type and model name of your HP product

Open Category Software & Drivers

If needful, change the Operating System / version and Click Submit

Next,

Assuming any drivers are found for your OS version,

Open sub-category Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices

Find and click open the "Fingerprint" Driver --

NOTE >> The exact name varies depending on the Fingerprint hardware installed in your computer.

Download, Save, Install the driver

Restart the system after the software is installed
