Hi @NachiketM,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you can't log in to your HP Envy x360 laptop because you've forgotten your PIN and the fingerprint scanner isn't working, you can try the following steps to regain access:

Use Your Microsoft Account Password

  1. Switch to Password Login:
    • On the login screen, look for an option that says "Sign-in options" or similar.
    • Select the option to log in with your Microsoft account password instead of the PIN or fingerprint.

Reset Your PIN Using Your Microsoft Account

  1. Reset PIN:
    • On the login screen, click "I forgot my PIN."
    • Follow the instructions to reset your PIN. You may be asked to enter your Microsoft account password to verify your identity.

Use Safe Mode to Access Your Account

  1. Boot into Safe Mode:
    • Restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key (or Shift + F8 on some systems) before Windows starts loading to access the Advanced Boot Options menu.
    • Select "Safe Mode with Networking" and press Enter.
    • Log in with your Microsoft account password or, if Safe Mode bypasses the PIN requirement, you can access your desktop.

Use a Password Reset Disk or USB

  1. Password Reset Disk:
    • If you've previously created a password reset disk or USB, insert it into your laptop.
    • On the login screen, click "Reset password" and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Use Another Administrator Account

  1. Log in with Another Account:
    • If there is another administrator account on the laptop, log in with that account.
    • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and reset your PIN or password.

Reset Password Using Command Prompt

  1. Access Command Prompt:
    • If you can access the Advanced Boot Options menu, select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Command Prompt."
    • Type the following command to enable the built-in Administrator account: net user administrator /active:yes
    • Restart your laptop and log in with the Administrator account (no password required).
    • Reset your PIN or password from the Settings.

Reset Your PC

  1. Factory Reset:
    • If all else fails, you can reset your PC to factory settings, which will remove all your files and settings. Be sure to back up any important data before doing this.
    • On the login screen, click the power icon, hold down the Shift key, and click "Restart."
    • Select "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC" and follow the instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
