@numuica, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The defaultuser0 account is a temporary system account that gets created when the setup process (OOBE – Out Of Box Experience) fails or gets interrupted before completion.
Here's what you can do to fix and remove defaultuser0:
HP Factory Reset (Cleanest Method)
This will remove defaultuser0 and let you start fresh like the laptop just came out of the box.
🔄 Steps to Perform Factory Reset:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press the power button, then immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until you see the HP Recovery Manager or Choose an option screen.
- Select:
➤ Troubleshoot
➤ Then choose: Reset this PC - Pick:
- Remove everything (recommended for clean slate, since it's new)
OR - Keep my files (if somehow you already added data)
- Follow the on-screen prompts to reinstall Windows 11.
🔒 What If F11 Doesn’t Work?
Then try:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Turn it back on and immediately tap ESC repeatedly.
- On the HP Startup Menu, press F11 for System Recovery.
🧹 After Reset:
- Windows 11 setup will start from scratch.
- You’ll no longer see defaultuser0.
- You can now create your own proper admin user account.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
