Hi @Anchin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble installing the drivers and software for your HP DeskJet 5810 on your MacBook running macOS Sonoma (14.5), here are several steps you can try to resolve the issue:
1. Check Compatibility
- Ensure that the HP DeskJet 5810 is compatible with macOS Sonoma. Check HP’s support website for the latest drivers specific to your operating system.
2. Use HP Smart App
- Instead of HP Easy Start, try using the HP Smart app. This app often simplifies the setup process and may provide the necessary drivers.
- Download it from the Mac App Store.
3. Remove Old Drivers
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove any existing instances of the HP DeskJet 5810 by selecting it and clicking the minus (-) button.
- This can help eliminate conflicts with the new installation.
4. Download Drivers Manually
- Visit the HP Customer Support website and navigate to the Drivers & Software section for your printer.
- Download the appropriate driver for macOS manually, rather than relying on the automated installer.
5. Reset the Printing System
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the Printers list and choose Reset printing system. This will remove all printers and reset the printing system.
- After resetting, try adding the printer again.
6. Check for macOS Updates
- Make sure your macOS is fully updated. Go to System Preferences > Software Update and install any available updates.
7. Check Firewall Settings
- Sometimes, the firewall can block the printer connection. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall and ensure it’s not interfering with printer connections.
8. Reboot Your Devices
- Restart your MacBook and the printer. Make sure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your MacBook.
9. Use USB Connection
- If you’re trying to connect via Wi-Fi and it’s not working, try connecting the printer directly to your MacBook using a USB cable to see if the drivers can install that way.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
