I have the same problem as others have mentioned:

The following folders appeared in the "Documents" folder:

  1. hp.applications.package.appdata
  2. hp.system.package.metadata

Can I delete this? Can hp help move this?

It is a sytem file so I would not delete it- that may cause some programs to stop working. System files ony show up when you have enabled to show Hidden files. And you can choose to hide them as I explained.

You have enabled "Show hidden Items" which will show system files not normally visible. Turn it off and the files aren't visible. If you prefer to leave the setting on to show Hidden items- you can highlight each one and then click "Hide Selected Item" at top of window.

You replied, "You have enabled "Show hidden Items" which will show system files not normally visible. Turn it off and the files aren't visible. If you prefer to leave the setting on to show Hidden items- you can highlight each one and then click "Hide Selected Item" at top of window."

How do I "turn it off"? I have looked under "Settings." I do not see "Show hidden items."

Please explain in detail how to "Hide Selected Items."

Thanks,

In the Documents folder look for tab titled "view" at top. When you open it you will see "Hidden Items". Uncheck it. All of the system files won't be shown. If you prefer to leave "Hidden Files" checked just highlight the file and look at top for "Hide selected Items".

Is it safe to delete this? Is the applications package appdata needed?

It is not a hidden file on my computer.  It is an actual visible folder in “documents”
It is still visible when view hidden items is ticked or not ticked
It only appeared recently
