I got an email from someone in the HP executive office after using the email addresses posted well above to complain.  He suggested a driver.  I won't be at the site with that laptop  for a few days, but I'll install when I'm there and let people know what happens.  This seems like the first formal HP response - where they're proactively suggesting something, as opposed to support staff just offering random ideas when pressed.

Whats the driver? Can u post a link?

It does us no good if he is just refering to the drivers that are already availible under the HP ENVY m6-n012dx support page.

None of those work.

Looks like I get to join the club. I just received my laptop several days ago.

I can barely type since the control zone pad is so sensitive.

I can type mostly if I hold my hands up in the air and don't get anywhere near the

trackpad, although it just now moved the cursor up one line and started typing

into the previous sentence like it does so often.

So exasparating. I can barely type this note. It auto deletes and moves the cursor

all over when I don't expect it. I also experience what I've seen others report, that when

you click on the mouse trying to double click, it moves the cursor after the first click

so that the double click fails. This is such a beautiful laptop, but I can't (ok, stopping here to

tell you that after the word "can't", it just moved the cursor back to the .... I can't even finish

this sentence. I'm going to have to return this laptop. I could use a mouse mostly, but I have

to be able to type when I'm on battery. I do that a lot.

Any quality control at HP? Does anyone test this stuff ?

This SHOULD NOT be marked "solved". It shows 15 pages of unsolved.

Does Obama run this company? Is this also backwards land?

Ok, I probably shouldn't update this so quickly,

but I think I have the problem solved to my satisfaction. I'm on Windows 7 not 8, so that might

affect how you view this comment. Anyway, I disabled all multi-finger gestures, and tapping.

Now I can type again. I'm so relieved that I don't have to return this unit. Other than this control zone,

I like the laptop a lot.

And I am satisfied that is the answer just because I could type this entire paragraph without

all the deletes, cursor movements, etc. What an incredible relief.

One thing I will never like though is how much pressure I have to apply to mouse click with control zone.

I suppose I could look at it like it's "solid" since it's such a clunk when you click.

"None of that flimsy, clicky stuff here at HP !!! " WHEN YOU CLICK, YOU CLUNK, dude ! "

🙂     I'm silly with glee.

Hehe yeah just wait a couple of hours, maybe days. Because we've had those "hey it's fixed" moments and then it all goes back to disaster..
