hp elite mini 800 g9 and windows server

hi i am desperate, i purchased hp elite mini 800 g9 with i9 processor, all is great . since i have a small business i need to install windows server 2016 on this machine, all is good some times system gets stick in certain operations.

on control panel i see that a "pci simple  computations controller" driver  is missing.... tried to down load and install butttttt!!!!!!

i cant be installed since my operating system is not win 10 or win11.

i need the win server on this machine not too much computing, it is working fine just this driver issue

i want to cry

Hi:

You need this driver for the PCI Simple Comms Controller.

Driver - HP Elite Mini 800 G9 Desktop PC | HP® Customer Support

Try manually installing the driver as follows...

Download and run the driver.  If it doesn't install the device, then do this...

Go to the device manager.

Click on the PCI Simple Comms Controller needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and then at the bottom of that window, select the 'Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.'

Click on Have Disk and browse to:  C:\SWSetup\sp144400\src\driver\MEI\win10\heci (setup information file) click next and see if the driver will install that way.

If you post the hardware ID's for the 3 unknown devices, I will see if I can find the drivers for those too.

Sorry that W10 driver didn't work on Windows Server 2016.

I was hoping that Windows Server 2016 would be equivalent to W10, so the driver would install.

The driver I gave you definitely has support for the hardware ID you posted as is indicated by this copy and paste of the driver setup information file you browsed to when you installed the driver.

Sell it and buy an inexpensive server that has driver support for WS 2016.
