hp laptop 15-bs0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HPSA presents the need to install hp laptop 15-bs0xx system bios update sp87349.

I have done it three times. It seems to go thru OK, with no error messages. But HPSA keeps presenting the need to apply it.

What should I do?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I understand that you update the BIOS but HPSA keeps saying that the BIOS need to be updated

I'll try my best to help

Please download the BIOS directly from our Website: https://hp.care/2ok413d ( You will have BIOS update for both AMD and Intel )

If the issue persists, please uninstall the HPSA from Control Panel, restart your Notebook and download HPSA once again from this Link: https://hp.care/2Ew95x3

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you 🙂

I executed your instructions. However, HPSA continues to display the need to install the same package. I have the impression the update was successfully installed.
I have re-installed HPSA twice but it keeps showing the need to install the package.

What should I do next, please?

@Lima1,

I reviewed the post. It is awesome to hear from you again. Your splendid commitment, commendable technical skills and temperament are qualities that are admirable. Kudos to you for a job well done. 🙂  As @KrazyToad is out for the day, I am responding on his behalf.

Please try these steps:

  • Uninstall HP support assistant from PRograms and Features found in control Panel
  • Then create a new user account as an administrator  from this link: https://hp.care/2rZfJBC

Log into the new user account after restarting your computer.

Now try to perform the update. If it still does not work, you could manually update the bios as described in the previous post.

As a refresher, here is the linkhttps://hp.care/2IOB6CA Based on the processor. (AMD or Intel) perform the bios update.

This should correct the issue for you. If it continues then try these steps:

  • Please backup all your important data and perform a Microsoft Push-button reset of Windows 10 by following instructions from this link: https://hp.care/2toQrBj
  • Then install HP support assistant and try to run the bios update or manually update the bios from the link mentioned above.

This should fix the issue. Also, compare the bios version that you have with what is stated on the HP support site. This will give you better clarity if the latest version of the ios is installed or not.

This should do the trick for you.

Perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. Good luck to you. I will keep a watch for your response.  It is paramount to assist you as you are a valued HP customer.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Thanks for your guidance. However, HPSA continues to flag that BIOS update SP87349 needs to be installed.
I think it has been installed since when I run the HP PC Hardware diagnostic Windows, it shows BIOS Revision F.36.

I hope this helps you understand what the problem is.

@Lima1,

I read and reviewed the post comprehensively. It is great to hear from you again. You've displayed an immaculate attitude, infinite patience and great technical expertise and it is a combination that is laudable. Kudos to you for that. 🙂

You hit the nail right on its head. If the bios update version displayed on your computer is the same as the version found on the HP support site, then you could ignore the HP support assistant message. The bios version is the correct one and has already been installed.

Now you are a valued HP customer and it has been an absolute privilege to share this platform with you and a pleasure to work with you. I hope things work great for you. Trust me, I've done all I can to assist you here by keeping your best interest in mind.
