Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am experiencing issues where I am unable to install any software, open applications, or access safe mode. The device, which is approximately 9 years old, has significantly decreased in performance, and I am receiving an "unknown device error" message. Additionally, the Microsoft Store is not functioning, rendering the laptop currently unusable. I would appreciate a prompt response to this issue.

I recommend you save your files to a portable hard drive and reinstall W10 because your PC has more problems than just one unknown device.

 

If your PC did not come with Windows from HP, you will need to have your Windows product key handy to reinstall Windows.

 

You can make a bootable USB W10 installation flash drive with the Microsoft Media creation tool from the link below.

 

Download Windows 10

 

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

As far as the unknown device, please post the hardware ID for it so I can figure out what driver it needs.
