Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Use a Different Power Outlet – Plug the charger into a different outlet to rule out a wall socket issue.
Inspect the Charging Cable & Adapter – Look for any damage, fraying, or loose connections on the charger.
Test with Another HP Charger (if available) – If you have access to another compatible HP charger, try using it.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Unplug the charger and turn off the laptop.
- Remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds (this drains residual power).
- Reconnect the battery (if removed) and plug in the charger.
- Turn the laptop back on and check if it starts charging.
Reset the Battery Driver in Windows
- Unplug the charger and go to Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X → Click Device Manager
- Expand Batteries, right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and Uninstall Device.
- Do the same for Microsoft AC Adapter.
- Restart your laptop (Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically).
- Plug in the charger and check if it charges.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
