simple save external drive
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

i have a hp simple save external hard drive - model hp md1000h.  i read somewhere that this does not work with windows 10 and i have to go back to an earlier version to get the stuff off of it.  is this true?  do i need to buy a new external hard drive?  thanks

Yep need help. Don't even see the simple save launch on my laptop anymore. It used to open up a window the one that you can do a backup from. Let me know how to bring it up on Windows 10 cause I'm not seeing it.

Hi @easylife54,

 

The backup software will not work with Windows 10. However, you can manually take a back up and save it on the external hard drive.

My MD 1000 seems to be working with my Windows 10 Dell machine. However, it says it will back up every time the machine is idle for 5 minutes or more, and it does not appear to be doing so. Also, every time I start the SimpleSave software, it thinks I am using it for the first time. Is there and updated version of the software or a patch that will correct these issues?
