hp stream 14- ax010wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

this machine only came with a lousy 30gb hard drive, i try to download updates Microsoft has for it but it cant, no room, all it has downloaded is a couple of fb games  (candy crush i think)  and some icons to access websites  (my moms machine, its easier for her to click those to get into pages to do things like paying bills and such), i tried using an sd card, thinking i can get more space but that didn't work, what can i do? we have a 1 1tb external drive, will that help? id consider just changing the hard drive but when i did some research on this machine it seems the ,,,*struggles to not say something unkind *designer of this machine went with some kind of soldered in drive, a very unintelligent idea, and i suck at soldering. is there a  way to fix this and get the updates done?

@loganadam

You machine probably only has 32GB of eMMC storage. Please try the following Guide

so clean reinstall is the only way, well i cant say it puts a smile on my face but at least there is a fix without surgery, i have questions for this,

tje guide, if i recall call for an 8gb usb drive, i have a 4 gig, which i used when i had to redo the os on another hp machine  (a used system and the need was due to the knuckle heads at Microsoft doing an update wrong, bricking it), and when i had to change hard drives in another laptop  (sony vaio, bad sectors and crashing)  i was referred by folks on the Microsoft community to heidocs downloads of operating systems, could i just use one of those since it will let me work with the streams existing key?(i can use a tool a buddy gave me to locate the key first).

could i use the 1tb external drive to do the reinstall like it was a usb (not using it in place of the internal drive, i want to not need to keep the external plugged in) and still use the external drive for other things  (storing movies, ps4 games and such) or would using it for this lock anything else out? i am still new to reinstalls
