Hi @mannan808

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

No worries—this is fixable. If you've accidentally uninstalled the pen (stylus) driver on your HP laptop and now your HP Pen isn’t working, you can reinstall it with just a few steps.

1. Restart Your Laptop

First, restart your system—Windows often automatically reinstalls missing drivers after a reboot.

After restarting, test your pen. If it still doesn’t work, continue with the steps below.

2. Manually Reinstall from Device Manager

Press Windows + X, then click Device Manager.

Expand the section "Human Interface Devices" or "Bluetooth" (if your pen connects via Bluetooth).

Right-click and choose "Scan for hardware changes".

If the pen driver is detected, it will reinstall automatically.

If you see something like "HID-compliant pen" or "HP Pen", that’s your driver.

3. Download the Driver from HP Website

If the automatic method doesn’t work:

Go to: https://support.hp.com/drivers

Enter your laptop model number (you can find it on a sticker under the laptop or in Settings > System > About).

Look under the category "Driver – Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices" or "Firmware".

Download and install any drivers related to pen, touchscreen, or firmware updates.

4. Check Windows Optional Updates

Go to Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates.

Look for any drivers listed for HP Pen, HID, or touch input.

Install and restart the system.

5. Re-Pair the Pen (if Bluetooth)

If your HP Pen is Bluetooth-enabled:

Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices

Remove the HP Pen (if listed) and re-pair it by holding the pairing button on the pen until it shows up in the list.

Still Not Working?

Let me know:

Your HP laptop model

The HP Pen model (if available)

Whether your pen connects via Bluetooth or just works with the touchscreen

I’ll help you locate the exact driver and steps for your setup.
