@63pg, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are encountering wireless internet connection issues after loading an emergency boot disk in your HP laptop, the following troubleshooting tips might help resolve the problem:

Ensure WLAN Device is Enabled:

  • Confirm that your WLAN device is turned on. WLAN devices are responsible for connecting the laptop to Wi-Fi networks.

Operating System Controls:

  • Use the Network and Sharing Center to diagnose and repair network problems.
  • Navigate to the Control Panel:
    • Type control panel in the taskbar search box.
    • Select Control Panel.
    • Select Network and Internet.
    • Select Network and Sharing Center.

Manual Connection Setup:

  • If you don't see the WLAN you want to connect to:
    • Right-click the network status icon in the taskbar.
    • Select Open Network and Sharing Center.
    • Select Set up a new connection or network.
    • Follow the list of options to manually search for and connect to a network.

Functional Range:

  • Ensure that you are within range of your wireless router or access point. The signal might be weak or obstructed by barriers such as walls and floors.

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to diagnose any potential hardware issues that might be affecting your wireless connection. You can access these diagnostics as follows:
    • Turn on the computer and press Esc repeatedly until the BIOS Boot Menu appears.
    • Press F2 or select Diagnostics (F2).

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
