I'm trying to do a clean install on my envy. i threw away de partitions on the SSD and wanted to make new ones. The issue is that windows install gives an error when i select te ssd drive. Installing on the normal drive works fine.
I think windows 10 doesn't have the drivers of the lite-on ssd on-board to work with te SSD. How can i make this install work? I'm using a bootable usb with the windows installation on it.
Thanks for the help

Well, during this typing i made a work around.
I installed windows on the normal hdd. Then it was possible to format the SSD. When that was done i tried reinstalling windows on the SSD and it works!
Zo i removed the install from the HDD en installed windows on the SSD. So this thread van be closed.
Thanks for the help and i hope this helps others doing a clean install on this machine.

Help us to help you by posting the following information.
1. The complete Model Name. or Product Number. of the notebook - see This HP web document if you don't how to locate the model number and\or product number.
What is the complete product name for the SSD. Just calling it a "Lite-on SSD" isn't specific enough. Take a look at the SSD or the package it was delivered in.

Was it delivered with that M.2 SSD installed?

If you did not make a recovery drive, then I highly recommend that you contact HP to purchase one.
I will edit this and put in a link to where you can fill out a form and purchase a recovery flashdrive. See the link below.

Unfortunately, you tossed away the ability to make one on your own for free when you deleted the partitions.
Installing Windows 10 to an M.2 flashdrive is not a a simple task.
Do you understand that not all Windows usb installers are the same? There is a reason that the one you created is not working.
Do you know the difference between GPT and MBR formats and volumes?
