Hi,

I would upgrade the M2 Optane module with an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD of your preferred brand and capacity (no limit to capacity).

Something like the Samsung M2 980 would be great.

Example

https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-MZ-V8V1T0B-AM-980-SSD/dp/B08V83JZH4/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=980+...

You can create a USB drive with Windows 10 on it and then use it to install the OS on the new SSD

Download Windows 10

On page 36 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the M2 drive.

Hope it helps,

Thanks very much David for the answer.

So I can have 1TB HDD and 256GB SDD at the same time instead of HDD and Intel Optane memory?

HP Recommended

You're welcome

Yes, you can have an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD of your preferred capacity (there is no limit to the capacity) and the HDD at the same time.

I would turn off Optane in Bios or through INTEL RST software. Remove the optane and the hard drive.

Install Windows 10 on the SSD and place the HDD back in the machine.

Hope it helps

David
