I purchased what I thought was a used laptop on eBay.

Turns out it is used but the warranty hasn't expired it.

Is there anyone to tell the origins of the laptop I have?

We are just a Community Support forum staffed by part-time volunteers not affiliated with HP.


We have no access to HP Warranty functional areas and can not help you with issues related to those. These issues include Warranty: Coverage, Expiration, Renewal, or Extension.


Nor are we able to contact customers via chat, email, text, or telephone.


For these issues, your best bet is to contact HP Customer Service to see what they will do for you:

I contacted HP via chat.

And the laptop is registered, but HP won't give me anymore information than that.

Not surprising.

The warranty started Jan 8, 2024 and ends Jan 7, 2025

And I paid $29.99 for the laptop.

Crazy.
