All of a sudden my battery will not charge over 50%. I updated the Bios from HP and also calibrated the battery with no change. Tis laptop has an internal battery so removing it is a problem.

Ideas?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I have gone through your Post and I would like to help

I suggest you uninstall the Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery

Step 01. Click on the Start Button
Step 02. Type "Device Manager" in the start search box & open the Device Manager
Step 03. Look for Batteries and expand it by click on the + symbol on the left
Step 04. Right Click on "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" & uninstall and restart the Notebook
Note: This Battery driver will get re-installed automatically when you restart the Notebook again

If the issue persists, please run a Battery Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

I tried the solutions proposed and they did not solve the problem. I did the uninstal of the Microsoft programs and as mentioned they reinstalled w no change. I recalibrated the battery.

The battery check now tells me the battery charge capacity of 95% with cycle count 89.

It is not a hardware issue but software that presumabley was casued my a recent microsoft update.

I also updated the Bios with the HP update that was supposed to "solve" this issue.

Still will not charge past 57%.

What is your next solution?

Yes I updated BIOS and ran the battery test. The battery test suggested me to calibrate the battery and I did that. I ran another battery test after that and it said that the battery is fine. I have attached the screenshot showing those results. Later I realized that the battery is charging to 100% but it is charging extremely slowly. I will contact my nearest service center in case this problem is caused due to hardware issues. Capture.JPG
