  • windows was updating and I stopped this update at about 30%.  Then I couldn't boot anymore. I tried to make a bootable disk with a copy of my windows that was zipped. but this recovery disk I just made just wouldn't work. I try to make a recovery from HP recovery assistance: I tried reset and everything possible without success.
  • I am traveling and I didn't bring my HP recovery disk. it seems that I don't even have the partition recovery in my computer but I am not sure. so I would like to know how I can order my recovery disk from HP for this laptop.  Is there any way I can reset my computer without the recovery CD or at least how can I check from the HP repair screen  if I have the recovery partition on my computer?

When I tried to reset my computer HP tells me that it couldn't find the necessary file and that it couldn't go with the recovery process.  Please help I am away from home and although I am usually very good at repairing my computer,  this time I messed it up.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:  

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system. 

You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can help to alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/
