Do you mean the error code, 0x80072EFF? If so, there are multiple ways to fix the issue. Before I explain how to fix it, let me briefly explain the origin of the error message. In the majority of cases, it is caused by the incomplete installation by the update software which seems to be what has happened to you.

Now without further ado, the easiest solution to alleviate the error would to run sfc. To search from your start menu for command prompt (or cmd), right click the program and select "Run as administrator". Once there, type the following command: sfc /scannow

Wait till the operation has finished then reboot your laptop. If you were to experience a blue screen with the cmd still present, don't worry, you can type the command: shutdown /r

which would reboot your laptop and hopefully fix your issue.

If this doesn't work there are other methods we could try but see if this one would work for your issue.

My Setup:
HP Notebook: HP 14-dk0028wm
Current Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
