If your HP ZBook Firefly 14 G7 Mobile Workstation is not turning on and the orange light near the charging port is blinking, it typically indicates a power or battery issue. Here are steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

  1. Check the Charger and Cable:

    • Ensure the charger is properly connected to both the laptop and the power supply.
    • Verify that the charging cable is not damaged. Try using a different compatible charger if available.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Disconnect all external devices from the laptop.
    • Unplug the charger from the laptop.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power from the device.
    • Reconnect the charger and try to power on the laptop again.
  3. Inspect the Battery:

    • If the laptop starts when plugged in but does not hold a charge, the battery might be faulty and may need replacing.
    • Ensure the battery is properly seated if it is a removable type. For laptops with non-removable batteries, this step is not applicable.
  4. Check Diagnostic LEDs:

    • Pay attention to any blinking patterns of the orange light, as these could indicate specific error codes related to the battery or power system.
    • Consult the laptop's manual or HP support to decode the error pattern.
  5. Update BIOS:

    • If the laptop powers on intermittently, check if there is an available BIOS update from HP's support site that might address power management issues.

Do keep us posted on whether these steps resolve the issue. We’ll be happy to assist you with the next steps.
