Hi @Jase396

If your HP EliteBook won't power on even with the charger plugged in, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check the Power Connection:

    • Ensure that the power cord is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
    • Try using a different power outlet or power adapter if possible.
  2. Perform a Hard Reset:

    • Disconnect the charger from the laptop.
    • Remove the battery if it is detachable.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
    • Reconnect the battery and charger, then try turning on the laptop.
  3. Inspect for Hardware Issues:

    • Check for any visible damage to the power cable or the laptop's power port.
    • Ensure there are no loose or damaged components.
  4. Remove External Devices:

    • Disconnect all external devices such as USB drives, docking stations, etc.
    • Try powering on the laptop without any peripherals attached.
  5. Check the Battery and Charger:

    • If accessible, test the system with a known working battery or charger from another similar HP laptop.
  6. Look for Indicator Lights:

    • Check if any LED lights on the laptop (e.g., charging indicator) are on, blinking, or a different color than usual.
    • Refer to your HP laptop's manual to interpret these lights.
