Hi @Lemmings321

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I'm sorry you're experiencing this issue with your HP laptop. It sounds like there might have been a restart or update that occurred overnight, which can sometimes result in being logged out of applications. Here are a few things you could check:

First, consider what might’ve changed overnight:

  • Windows Update: Check Settings > Windows Update > Update history to see if your device installed anything recently. Some updates reset app logins, especially if they affect security settings.
  • User Profile Issue: Occasionally, Windows boots into a temporary profile if there was a login hiccup. If your desktop looks a little off (missing shortcuts, changed background), this might be the case.
  • Time or Region Shift: Rare but worth checking—go to Settings > Time & language and make sure your system clock and region haven’t reset. Some login-based apps re-authenticate if this happens.

Next steps to resolve it:

  • Reboot and Observe: Restart your laptop again to see if the issue persists. Simple, but surprisingly effective.
  • Check Account Sync Settings: Go to Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings and make sure everything is syncing correctly—especially if you use a Microsoft account.
  • App-specific Issues: Try opening apps one by one and see if any prompt you to verify identity. Some might be enforcing reauthentication due to credential refresh or policy updates.

Do you happen to remember if you saw any alerts or update prompts last night? Even a “Restart required” notification? That might be our breadcrumb trail. 🕵️‍♂️

Take care, and have an amazing day!
