You're very welcome.
Yes, your notebook is probably worth fixing if the rest of it is in good condition.
Unfortunately, memory and SSDs are very expensive due to the AI datacenter memory demands, which has placed a lot of stress on memory manufacturers to meet demands which created a chip shortage.
I recommend this drive as a replacement for the one you have now.
It's PCIe Gen 4.0 but since your notebook's NVMe slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds.
The max transfer speed from a Gen 3 slot is 4,000 MBPS.
Unfortunately, they don't make a 250 GB model.
It comes with a 5-year warranty.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the SSD removal and replacement procedure:

HP also has a service teardown video:

You can use another PC and the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall the original HP factory software image on the new drive.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility:
HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows | HP® Support
Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will have to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.
Your PC's product number is 2Z289UA#ABA

Paul,
Thank you for your reply and instructions on how to solve my issue. I checked out video on how to do procedure, seems to be pretty straightforward, not to sure about the recovery procedure though. Going to have to research it more and decide if I want to tackle it. Again thanks for your time in helping me with my issue

Anytime.
Glad to have been of assistance.
If creating the recovery media and using it works with no issues (sometimes it doesn't), it should be easier than replacing the drive.
Your other option to reinstall Windows is to make a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Microsoft media creation tool from the link below:
After W11 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

Cheers,
Paul
