@G-Man13, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

It looks like you're using an HP Chromebook - 14a-na0031wm, and you're seeing Google Chrome instead of Windows. I’d be happy to clarify this for you.

Important Info:

Your device is a Chromebook, which runs Chrome OS, not Microsoft Windows. Chrome OS is a lightweight operating system developed by Google, and it’s designed to work primarily with web-based applications through the Chrome browser.

So when you say “it went to Google Chrome,” that’s actually normal behavior for a Chromebook.

What You Can Do:

If you were expecting a Windows experience, here are your options:

Use Chromebook Features

You can continue using Chrome OS. It supports:

  • Web browsing via Chrome
  • Android apps via the Play Store
  • Cloud-based productivity tools like Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive

Install Windows (Not Recommended)

Technically, Chromebooks are not designed to run Windows. Installing Windows would require:

  • Unlocking the bootloader
  • Flashing a custom BIOS (via MrChromebox.tech)
  • Using a USB installer for Windows

⚠️ This is not supported by HP and may void your warranty or damage the device.

Switch to a Windows Laptop

If you need Windows for specific software or tasks, you might consider using a Windows-based HP laptop instead. HP offers a wide range of affordable Windows laptops that might suit your needs better.
