HP pavilion dv9500 notebook windows vista home prem , 32 bt, 2.00 gb ram i am being told that i am running low on memory, are the " programs " whats taking up my memory I do not know what is safe to remove , dont want to uninstall vital programs , there are 135 programes there at the moment

UPDATE, have been advised to upgrade memory as vista takes up allmost 2.0gb memory is there an additional slot for another 2.0 gb memory card as i can't find my manual if so do i just plug it in or does it have to be formatted like a drive

Your system has two memory slots. It is preinstalled with 2GB (2 X 1GB). You can upgrade to 4GB RAM by installed 2 X 2GB DDR2 memory modules. The following weblink has the removal and replacement instructions for your notebook:

I have just seen some internal video and found that there would be one memory slot below the other slot. If you open the memory door on the backside of the notebook will give you the access to the second memory slot. Please remove the memory card to access the primary memory slot.
