Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently had to recover the windows on my niece's hp laptop. we had tried to reset it and keep her files but she only remembered her pin and not the password so we couldn't get back in. after many hours of research and tears I was able to finally get in and do and do a recovery reset. I'm sorry if I'm not using the terms here. but I had to reinstall windows. there was  something missing in the windows. it has now updated to windows 10. but now every time it restarts it asks for a password other than just her windows password. it's in a blue box. I'm sorry I don't remember the exact wording. i remember putting in the password somewhere along the way, while in the system configuration maybe? How can that be shut off without going back into inner workings? I don't want to mess it up again. thanks
