Hi @hoplo
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Let’s get your built-in mic working quickly! Here are a few things to check:
1. Verify Mic Is Enabled
- Right-click the Speaker icon in the taskbar → Sound settings.
- Under Input, select your built-in microphone and Set as Default.
- Click Troubleshoot to scan for problems.
2. Check Microphone Permissions
- Go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
- Ensure "Allow apps to access your microphone" is enabled.
- Check that your recording software (like Audacity or FL Studio) has permission.
3. Test in Sound Control Panel
- Type "mmsys.cpl" in Windows Search and open it.
- Go to Recording tab → Select microphone → Click Properties.
- Under Levels, increase the volume and unmute if necessary.
4. Reinstall Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (Realtek, Intel, or similar) → Uninstall device → Restart.
5. Try an External Mic or USB Audio Adapter
- If all else fails, plug in an external mic or USB audio adapter to bypass the built-in mic.
Try these out and let me know if you need more help—let’s get your song recorded smoothly!
If my response helped, please mark it as an Accepted Solution! ✅ It helps others and spreads support. 💙 Also, tapping "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" makes a big difference! Thanks! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
