This behaviour has nothing whatsoever to do with a virus! When a PC gets infected with a virus, the most common motive is MONEY -- as the virus spreaders lock you your files and demand MONEY from you to unlock them. What is happening here is nothing at all like that.
The HP logo is contained in firmware in the BIOS chip on the motherboard and will display even if no disk drive is present in the laptop.
This issue is often due to a failing drive.
So, let's check that first, because if it is failing, it would need to be replaced and there is no point then in doing anything else until we confirm that.
If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the HDD (Hard Disk Drive): http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024
If not, to check the HDD you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu
3) Press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.
If the drive checks out OK, then report that and I can provide you options for reinstalling Windows on your PC.
Please note that if your model has an SSD instead of an HDD, these diagnostics might not work properly.

Most people just GUESS at their PC having a virus because it is behaving oddly -- but if you are getting a message to that effect then please describe, in detail, the steps you performed to get to the message and provide us the precise message wording.
And YES -- if you do a factory reset, since that erases everything from the drive, it will allow you to do a clean install with the PC being infected anymore.

ok thank you for the response , So i decided to take your advice and do a System quick test and in the moment it is checking my memory quick check and so just some time ago (like at 6:00pm) i was resetting my computer and i did the (clear off everything on your computer ) and it was going great but kept stopping at 57% so i was like "yk what its problay loading " so i left it to be (keep in mind i was monerting it ) and like 25-30 minutes later it was like "there was a problem" and it told me to continue and when i pushed continue it just went to the computer looping stage . and so i was like ok let me try agin and i tried to just clear all my files and it did the same thing but it stayed at 37% and did the same as the other one and so after that i was losing hope but then i was like let me try this with the system quick test and i will update you once it finishes 🙂
