I have an HP stream model: CB171WM, so it came with windows 10 but somehow 2 wks. after getting it the computer decides its going to upgrade on its own. when i saw that it changed to win 11, right away i tried to recover 10 and it no longer was on my hard drive. how is that possible? and how can I get 10 back without having to pay for it?

Hi:
You can use the HP cloud recovery tool and a 32 GB USB flash drive to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

If you have to use the utility on another PC (your PC's drive may not have enough space to create the recovery media), you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.
